KINGS at SHARKS

(Sharks lead best-of-seven series 3-1)

TV: VERSUS (HD), TSN, RDS (HD), PRIME (HD), CSN-California (HD)

Big story:
The Sharks, who were booed loudly a week ago after being beaten 4-0 at home in Game 2, figure to get plenty of love when they hit the ice at HP Pavilion San Jose returns home afte riddling the Kings' defense for 12 games in two wins at L.A., a 6-5 OT victory in which the Sharks overcame a 4-0 deficit and a 6-3 win in Game 4.

Team scope:

Kings
-- The Kings have been outscored 12-4 since taking a 4-0 lead early in Game 3, but coach Terry Murray said there's no question that Jonathan Quick will be in goal on Saturday night. Quick had a shutout in Game 2 but surrendered six goals in each of the two home losses.

“No change in goal. Absolutely not," he said after Friday's practice. "Jonathan Quick’s our goaltender. He’s our No. 1 guy, period. Those goals that we’re seeing coming against us right now are a result of team play. Everybody is involved in it. He has played good. In fact, in the first period, I thought they would not score a goal on him (in the game). He was that sharp, in my opinion.”

Murray may make some changes to his forward lines -- forward Scott Parse, out since November after hip surgery, is expected to play. Parse played in only five regular-season games, none since Nov. 15.

Sharks -- Just because they have their Southern California rivals down doesn't mean the Sharks can let up entering Game 5.

"If we let up or take our foot off the gas pedal for any little bit it's going to cost us," San Jose coach Todd McLellan said. "I'd like to think we're growing up as a team and are able to put some of those lapses behind us. Tomorrow will be a reflection on whether we've learned a lesson or whether we'll be taught a lesson."

Who's hot -- The Sharks were a great example of a balanced offense in Los Angeles; 12 players had points in both games. But no one has been hotter than Ryane Clowe, who has back-to-back two-goal games.

Injury report -- Neither team has any new injuries. The biggest loss for either team is the absence of Kings' center and top scorer Anze Kopitar, who is out with a feactured ankle.

Stat pack -- The Sharks had scored six goals in a playoff game just five times in their history before doing it it Games 3 and 4.

Puck drop -- With the chance to get some rest before the second round, expect the Sharks to come out looking for the knockout punch early.

"When you have the opportunity to win that fourth game you have to take advantage of it," defenseman Dan Boyle said. "We're at home, we don't want to have to get back on a plane and go back there and fight for another 60-plus minutes. You want to take care of business when you can, get the extra rest. When you can put a team away, put them away."
