2008-09: Made his NHL debut with San Jose on Jan. 3 vs. the Islanders and had two penalty minutes in 12:33..AHL: Third amongst team defensemen in points…Set the franchise record for goals by a defenseman (T-7th)…Appeared in the AHL All-Star Game for the Canadian Team and did not record a point...Won the Hardest Shot Contest (98.6 mph) and finished second to teammate Ryan Vesce in the Puck Control Relay at the AHL Skills Competition...Playoffs: Recorded two assists and eight PIM in 12 games.
