Reading Is Cool presented by Comerica Bank is a free and unique literacy program focused on public K-6 grade classrooms in Santa Clara County and southern Alameda County (Fremont, Newark and Union City). It promotes the importance of reading while sharing the excitement and enjoyment of a good book. Through a multifaceted approach that includes exclusive experiences and incentives, students are encouraged to succeed as individual readers and as a classroom team. Comerica Bank has been a supportive sponsor of the Sharks Foundation’s flagship literacy program since 2010.
Citrix has been extremely supportive of the Sharks Foundation. In previous seasons, Citrix has had MVP and Presenting sponsorship presence at our Sharks Foundation Golf Classic and our Sampling with the Sharks wine tasting fundraiser. By sponsoring these events, Citrix is providing valuable monetary resources to youth and families in the community.
Through Goals for Kids, each on-ice achievement will support underserved youth and families in Santa Clara County. For each San Jose Sharks goal scored during the regular season, $1,000 will be given to local organizations dedicated to enhancing the lives of youth and families in need. Thanks to the Koret Foundation, Taube Philanthropies and Le Boulanger, each Sharks goal on the ice will help our beneficiaries achieve their goals in the community!
The Sharks Foundation partnered with Kaiser Permanente to introduce the Stick to Fitness powered by Kaiser Permanente program in the 2014-15 season. Stick to Fitness powered by Kaiser Permanente is a fun and active program dedicated to educating sixth grade students on the importance of healthy living, while encouraging them to be active during physical education class and at home. Kaiser Permanent has also joined on as the presenting sponsor of the Sharks Foundation’s annual Fitness Faceoff: Run/Ride/Health Festival.
As the proud sponsor of the home of the San Jose Sharks, the SAP Center, SAP has played an active role in participating in some of the Sharks Foundation’s premier fundraising events including Sampling with the Sharks and as the Presenting sponsor of Sharks and Strikes in previous years. By sponsoring these events, SAP provides valuable monetary resources to youth and families in the community.
