MOVEMBER IS BACK
There’s something big growing in San Jose, as members of the Sharks are sporting mustaches to support the annual “Movember” fundraising and awareness campaign.
During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of millions of mustaches on men's faces around the world. Through the power of the “Mo,” vital funds and awareness are raised to combat prostate and testicular cancer and mental health challenges.
Currently, seven players on the Sharks roster are scheduled to participate in this 30-day fundraising effort.
This year, James Sheppard #15 has taken charge and is serving as the team’s official “Movember” captain. Also participating are Logan Couture #39, Brent Burns #88, Andrew Desjardins #10, Alex Stalock #32, Jason Demers #5 and Mike Brown #18.

- Or if you’re unwilling or unable to grow a mustache, you can simply donate to the cause and help spread the word about the importance of men’s health.
Established in 2003 in Melbourne, Australia, “Movember” transforms the month of November it to a mustache growing event for thousands of men all around the world. Every year, men grow and women support the mustache for the 30 days of November to raise vital funds and awareness for prostate cancer and other male mental health initiatives. Globally, over 3 million people have participated and raised over $444 million since 2003.
Globally, the funds raised by our Mo Bros and Mo Sistas support world-class men’s health programs that combat prostate and testicular cancer and mental health challenges. These programs, directed by the Movember Foundation, are focused on awareness and education, living with and beyond cancer, staying mentally healthy, living with and beyond mental illness and research to achieve our vision of an everlasting impact on the face of men’s health.
