Pavelski Voted as Ram Trucks \'Sharks Fan Favorite\'
The Sharks announced that forward Joe Pavelski has been voted as the winner of the Ram Trucks \u201CSharks Fan Favorite Award\u201D for the 2013-14 season.

SAN JOSE – The San Jose Sharks (@sanjosesharks) announced today that forward Joe Pavelski has been voted as the winner of the Ram Trucks “Sharks Fan Favorite Award” for the 2013-14 season. The Ram Trucks “Sharks Fan Favorite Award” is determined by fan voting at sjsharks.com. Nearly 11,000 votes were submitted during the eligible period.

Pavelski has had a banner year in 2013-14, posting career-highs in points (77) and goals (39) (both first on the Sharks), along with a plus-21 rating in 80 games. In addition, Pavelski currently ranks tied-for-third in the NHL in goals, second in power play goals (15), T-8th in points (77), T-10th in blocked shots amongst forwards (65), and ninth in faceoff percentage (56.3%).

Pavelski was named the Brocade Sharks Player of the Month twice this season (December 2013, January 2014). Additionally he was named the NHL’s “Third Star of the Month” in January when he finished the month with 16 points (team-leading 12 goals, four assists) and a +7 rating in 15 games.

Pavelski has registered three hat tricks this season, tied for the most in the NHL. The first occurred on Jan. 18 at Tampa Bay and was his first career NHL hat trick. In that game, he also set a new Sharks franchise record for fastest three goals (6:12) in a game. On February 27, 2014 at Philadelphia, he struck again, scoring the second-fastest hat trick in franchise history in 9:47 of game time. Finally, Pavelski netted his “hat trick” of hat tricks on March 25 at Edmonton.

This season marks the second time Pavelski has reached the 30-goal, 30-assist mark (2011-12). He is only the fourth Sharks player in franchise history to have multiple “30/30” seasons. Furthermore, on March 11 vs. Toronto, Pavelski scored a pair of goals and added an assist to surpass the 400-point mark, becoming just the fourth Sharks player in franchise history to reach 400 points with the team.

Pavelski represented Team USA at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia earlier this year and was a member of the silver medal squad with Team USA in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

The five-foot-eleven, 190-pound native of Plover, Wisconsin was originally selected by San Jose in the seventh round (205th overall) of the 2003 NHL Draft.

Everyone who submitted a vote for the Ram Trucks “Sharks Fan Favorite Award” was automatically entered into a random drawing which one (1) Grand Prize winner was randomly selected from among all eligible entries that voted for the winning “Fan Favorite Player” (Pavelski) received during the entry period.

The Grand Prize winner received two tickets to tonight’s Sharks “Fan Appreciation Night,” presented by SAP, a pre-game tour of SAP Center at San Jose, a Zamboni ride, the opportunity to meet the Sharks player they voted for and receive that player’s game-worn jersey on the ice following the game.
