Twitter Tales: #HitsMinusFiveEqualsFun :-))
A recap of the Sharks thrilling 5-3 defeat of the Penguins retold by twitter.

Entering Thursday night, it had been over a decade since the Pittsburgh Penguins last won a game in San Jose. Granted the occasion was not guaranteed to happen every year prior to this season, but the stretch of dominance in Silicon Valley boasted an impressive 9-0-1-0 record since the last defeat and the lone blemish to the right of the win column represented a tie.

So enter two hungry teams from each conference, each with their own version of revenge on the mind and we're bound for greatness, guaranteed, right?

After no NHL trades on the trade deadline, the Sharks announced the signing of a young player from the OHL.

These arrived.

Funny how the most threatening of power plays came at the most threatening of times, yet it was the play of the game... week... season for the Sharks? (There's no way this is spoiling things for anybody, right?)

First Period

It was the anemic trending Sharks power play that puffed its chest first, yet nothing comes of it.

After the Sharks surrendered the lead a minute earlier, Burns vented some frustration on a fallen Penguin along the boards and the therapy cost him and the Sharks a two-goal hole.

Second Period

Is this where we argue weather hits can be a catalyst and confidence boost?

Voila!

The credit for the goal changed several times, but all that mattered was that the Sharks were on the board and starting to dictate the pace.

Third Period

Minutes in a Matt Nieto stick ran high and drew some blood, putting the Sharks down a man for four minutes against a lethal power play unit. Sharks are done for...

:(

:-))

In a way that only Jumbo can...

Burns adds the dagger with an empty netter, with seconds remaining on the clock.
