Twitter Tales: #SendofftoSochi

Everyone wants to go out on a positive note. Battling injuries, adversity and fatigue, the Sharks faced a final opponent before Olympic break needing to capture some momentum. Perhaps fitting, it was also a day of milestones and celebration.

Joe Pavelski's hometown honored their hero with "Joe Pavelski Day".

Adam Burish reminds everyone of the positivity he can bring to the locker room.

First Period

John McCarthy made quick use of his recall, stepping in for an injured Matt Nieto.

Then the Sharks did what they've been unable to do in several games and that was build on a lead, early in the game.

These types of things have not felt like they've gone the Sharks way too often this season.

Second Period

Perhaps the half-empty takeaway from the game was the Sharks inability to produce on the power play, again, despite many opportunities.

A familiar face was seen during the Winter Games Opening Ceremony that was broadcast at the same time as the Sharks game.

Nervous energy?

Third Period

Tommy Hustle with another timely goal.

Final
