Twitter Tales: #DontStartZieringatSafety
San Jose doesn't often travel to the east coast, but when they do it for the first time in over a year, you know there's going to be jokes about a bad movie that aired on Syfy last summer. However, we'd like to thank the opportunity, no matter the lateness, because without it, we would have missed this beautiful exchange.
@FlaPanthers Ever see a Free Safety with a Chainsaw? Put me in coach, let's do this!— Ian Ziering (@IanZiering) January 16, 2014
We can only assume Ian Ziering, aka Fin Shepard, aka Steve Sanders is referring to this.
Remember that time Ian Ziering flew directly into the mouth of a shark with a chainsaw and cut his way out?? Are Oscar voters blind?!— Scott Friedman (@ArcticJew) January 16, 2014
But the best part is that he may or may not believe the Florida Panthers are a football team and is volunteering to play free safety for them. So this is what he thought he was in for...
But instead he had this waiting for him.
While the Panthers were negotiating a free agent signing, Brent Burns, is of course, outside looking for gators.
@sharkvoice come on..... I looked for ten minutes!! Any pics?— Brent Burns (@Burnzie88) January 16, 2014
And just a reminder that our broadcasting crew gets prepared with their breakdown and analysis, complete with stats, much earlier than puck drop.
Waiter at lunch with @DanRusanowsky just said "Good morning. I'll be your waiter tonight." It's 1:20 in the afternoon. 0 for 3— Randy Hahn (@sharkvoice) January 16, 2014
The Sharks surrendered the first four shots of the night, then went to work against the former Conn Smythe winner, who turned out to be the story of the first period.

Todd McLellan called this next sequence the defining moment of the game, saving a one goal lead and jumping to a two goal lead seconds later.
