Twitter Tales: #GettinStreakyWithIt
On a day where colossal matchups on Sundays are supposed to belong on the Gridiron, the Sharks and Ducks met for the second time this season, each riding winning streaks of their own. The Sharks, winners of three straight, looked to stop a streak of 10 victories by the Ducks. And to continue this whole titanic bout analogy, good things usually come to those who come out swinging.
I am comfortable saying I'm excited 4 2nite's game vs Ducks who R 1st in NHL in pts, 1st in ROW w/ 26 & have won 10 straight. Big, fun game— Jamie Baker (@Bakes_Jamie13) December 29, 2013
Update on the injured.

Frederik Andersen getting the start tonight for Ducks against San Jose. Antti Niemi going for the Sharks.— Eric Stephens (@icemancometh) December 29, 2013
With Teemu Selanne back home, Kyle Palmieri will draw back in. Tim Jackman appears to be in tonight, Matt Beleskey out.— Eric Stephens (@icemancometh) December 29, 2013
And then the ref says ... wait for it ... that's not a puck, it's a duck! pic.twitter.com/DNjHqovFsR— San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) December 29, 2013
Looks as if McLellan keeping 83 with 12 and 39 for #SJSharks vs. ANA. Bottom two lines? 15-Kearns (38)-57 and 81-10-18.— David Pollak (@PollakOnSharks) December 29, 2013
Teemu Selanne is out tonight (osteoporosis).— Fear The Fin (@fearthefin) December 30, 2013
The Sharks have scored 10 times in the first two minutes of games this season.
Holy first shift, Batman #sjsharks— Keith Barnard (@Keith2TheCity) December 30, 2013
Gotta love it when the @SanJoseSharks come out buzzing like that!— Owen Nolan (@OwenNolan11) December 30, 2013
And it doesn't stop there.
COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOCH #SJSharks 2-0! WHAT. A. GOAL.— Felix (@SJSharkByte) December 30, 2013
UNREAL GOAL BY LOGAN COUTURE! @SanJoseSharks— Lucas VanRoestel (@LucasVanRoestel) December 30, 2013
All that practise in the shootouts finally pays off for @SanJoseSharks #39.— Chet Couture (@NLLREF2) December 30, 2013
Not sure this whole "let's give them as many breakaways as we can and just see what happens" strategy is very effective, Anaheim.— John Carroll (@toshanshuinLA) December 30, 2013
Congrats to Couture on goal #100 - boy once he got to 99 he Gretzkied himself and stayed there for awhile.— Jamie Baker (@Bakes_Jamie13) December 30, 2013
Couture in 1st - 1 goal, 2 shots, 2 takeaways, 1 blocked shot and 5-2 for 71% on face offs. That's providing value. #SJSharks— Jamie Baker (@Bakes_Jamie13) December 30, 2013
Some bad news to start the second frame.
And now some good news.
Good for Bracken Kearns. Great play by Desjardins to take it strong to the net, and Kearns cleans up the loose rebound. 3-0 #SJSharks lead— Kevin Kurz (@KKurzCSN) December 30, 2013
Kearns did play in the playoff series against the Kings last year. But your classic journeyman that will surely get the puck afterward.— Eric Stephens (@icemancometh) December 30, 2013
Bracken Kearns, a 32-year old rookie, just scored his first NHL goal and went nuts. That was pretty awesome. #SJSharks— Mike (@RealMikeSalerno) December 30, 2013
If bracken Kearns gets his name on the Stanley cup, it'd be a shame for Hollywood not to make a movie bout him. #sjsharks— Andrew Bensch (@ViewFromBensch) December 30, 2013
With his assist on the Kearns goal, Mike Brown now has as many points this season as Stephen Weiss.— Fear The Fin (@fearthefin) December 30, 2013
Bad guys score, but all Sharks fans can see is the missed opportunity by Ducks goal scorer Patrick Maroon and his sweater number.
Maroon really missed the boat not picking the number 5.— Lauren Belfoy (@Lauren_Belfoy) December 30, 2013
Antti Niemi has allowed 1G or fewer 10 times in 34 outings this season. Has allowed 2G or fewer 20 times. Not easy to find Nemo. #SJSharks— Pete Jensen (@NHLJensen) December 30, 2013
Merry Christmas @Logancouture ! Belated gift— jason demers (@jasondemers5) December 30, 2013
Long road to 100. Made it special it was in a win. Thanks everyone. Real story is Kearnsy 1st. Story of hard work and never giving up!— Logan Couture (@Logancouture) December 30, 2013
