The Sharks began a four-game road trip north of the border on Tuesday in one of North America's destinations for hockey. Several Sharks players were set to play in front of friends and family. It was also a night that unified the Bay Area. What resulted may not have been the Sharks best win of the year, but we'll take the two points and move on.

How about Desjardins’ first period? Guy is everywhere. Fourth line hems in Leafs top line on a great shift and Brown just misses— Kevin Kurz (@KKurzCSN) December 4, 2013
Thornton the shooter (given plenty of open net and a Pavelski thread).
#SJSharks Jumbo!! He actually shot it! ;)— Pattycakes (@generationxwing) December 4, 2013

After the Maple Leafs gave the Sharks all sorts of trouble in the first 10 minutes of the second, it's
Joe Pavelski Brad Stuart to the rescue.

Official credit on the #SJSharks 3rd goal now goes to Stuart, w/ lone assist from Boyle. Stat guy must not be a Pavelski fan.— San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) December 4, 2013
2nd period is now in the books. Synopsis: Leafs start strong, score 2 PP goals. McLellan yells at players. Players play better & score.— Jamie Baker (@Bakes_Jamie13) December 4, 2013
Sharks hold on to the lead this period and secure a win thanks to some stellar saves by Niemi and an empty netter by Couture.
