Donate to Those in Need During \'Season of Giving\'
As the holiday season approaches, the Sharks Foundation will present fans with various opportunities to aid organizations through programs.


As the holiday season approaches, the Sharks Foundation will present fans with various opportunities to aid organizations through programs including: Second Harvest Food Drive; Operation: Care and Comfort; Philippine Relief Collection; Toys for Tots Toy Drive; and the Share the Warmth Drive.

The following is a list of events that fans can refer to throughout the coming months:

Second Harvest Food Drive - Nov. 21 (vs. Tampa Bay Lightning) & Nov. 23 (vs. New Jersey Devils)

  • Fans can donate non-perishable items or monetary donations at the entrances of SAP Center at San Jose
  • All donors will receive a raffle ticket for a drawing to be held that night for a chance to win great Sharks prizes!
  • Items most needed are canned meals (soups, chili, etc.), canned meats (chicken, tuna, etc.), peanut butter, canned vegetables and fruits, low-sugar cereals, 100% fruit juices in single serving boxes and other non-perishable items. Items in glass jars cannot be donated.

Philippine Relief Collection - Nov. 27 (vs. Los Angeles Kings)

  • This is a one-time drive to collect money for Red Cross relief efforts in the Philippines caused by Typhoon Haiyan.
  • Fans can make a donation at the North and South Entrances of SAP Center at San Jose, or at the Sharks Foundation Booth located between Sections 118 and 120 on the concourse
  • For those unable to attend the game, donations can be made by visiting www.sharksfoundation.org or texting the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation. These donations help provide food, shelter and emotional support to those affected by disasters.

Operation Care and Comfort - Nov. 30 (vs. Anaheim Ducks)

  • Operation: Care and Comfort provides support to deployed U.S. military service members, serving in Iraq, Afghanistan, and conflict regions, by sending care packages containing needed items.
  • To donate, barrels will be available at the North and South entrances of SAP Center at San Jose
  • Items needed include: Winter/Christmas Items; Personal, Hygiene and Toiletries; and Snacks, Foods, and Treats. For more details, please visit: http://www.occ-usa.org/occshoplist/index.cfm
  • To make monetary donations, Operation Care & Comfort will have a table on the Concourse outside Section 115 next to the Club entrance stairs

Toys for Tots Toy Drive - Dec. 10 (vs. New York Islanders) & Dec. 12 (vs. Minnesota Wild)

  • Fans can donate new, unwrapped toys or monetary donations at the entrances of SAP Center at San Jose.
  • All donors will receive a raffle ticket for a drawing to be held that night for a chance to win great Sharks prizes!
  • Over the past two years, the toy collection drive with the Sharks Foundation brought in over $35,000 and collected over 5,000 toys in the past two years. The Sharks Toys for Tots collection drive is consistently the Marines most successful in Northern California.

Share the Warmth Drive - Jan. 9 (vs. Detroit Red Wings) & Jan. 11 (vs. Boston Bruins)

  • Fans can donate new or gently used jackets and blankets or monetary donations at the entrances of SAP Center at San Jose.
  • All donors will receive a raffle ticket for a drawing to be held that night for a chance to win great Sharks prizes!
  • Sacred Heart Community Service assists over 1,500 community members daily providing a wide range of services.
