Twitter Tales: #SaveoftheYear
A recap of the Sharks 1-0 shootout victory over the Red Wings as told by twitter.

Detroit exited for the Eastern Conference, but the Sharks will still continue to play the Red Wings twice a season during the regular season. There are still many ties between the organizations and there's no erasing the playoff history in recent years. That seemed to be the storyline heading into the Monday night matchup at the Joe.

It's not a gameday without some roster news.

A small meeting between the Professor and Sharks broadcasting friends.

Speaking of broadcasters.

Brodie Brazil: "Consider it done. I'll be practicing for the next 6 hours...."

First Period

Apparently the Red Wings give up a bunch of shots, but this game was not destined to be a shootout, right from the start.

Second Period

Went pretty much like the first with good defensive play and goaltending.

Third Period

After some more banter between Bakes and Ratto, the pace opened up a bit in the third.

Overtime

Again scoreless, but it all set up for one of the best shootout experiences in a while for the Sharks.

Shootout

Save of the year, for the win!

Two points on the road.
