Sharks Re-Sign Forward Bracken Kearns


SAN JOSE, California - San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the team has re-signed forward Bracken Kearns to a one-year contract.

In 2012-13 Kearns played in one regular season and seven postseason games for San Jose. Kearns played in 66 games with the Worcester Sharks in the AHL, finishing first on the team with 46 points (21 goals, 25 assists). Along with leading the team in overall point-scoring, Kearns posted team-leading numbers in goals, assists and power play goals (11).

The 32 year-old Kearns has played in six career NHL games with San Jose and Florida, recording 10 penalty minutes. In 473 career AHL games, Kearns has registered 266 points (110 goals, 156 assists) and 496 penalty minutes.

The six-foot-one, 205-pound native of Vancouver, BC was signed by the Sharks as a free agent on July 2, 2012. He originally signed his first NHL contract with Phoenix on July 6, 2010.
