Prospects Return to \'Young Stars Classic\'

SAN JOSE, California - The San Jose Sharks announced today that they will once again participate in the "Young Stars Classic," a round-robin rookie tournament hosted by the Vancouver Canucks featuring prospects from the Sharks, Canucks, Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers, and Winnipeg Jets from September 5-9 in Penticton, British Columbia.

Tournament ticket packages, which include a ticket to eight tournament games, are $70 plus applicable fees and go on sale June 14 at 10 a.m. Tickets will be available online at www.valleyfirsttix.com, by phone at 1-877-763-2849, or in person at the Valley First Box Office at the South Okanagan Events Centre or at Penticton & Wine Country Visitor Centre. Single game tournament tickets will go on sale in August.

"It is amazing the amount of energy and excitement having five NHL teams coming into our community brings to fans who might otherwise never be able to see an NHL caliber hockey game. These Young Stars are a pleasure to watch as the hockey is fast, hard hitting and intense," commented Event Chair and City Councilor Andrew Jakubeit. "The Young Stars Classic will be more of a hockey festival theme this year, which will make it a 'must attend' event for any hockey fan while also providing significant economic impact and exposure for our community and facilities."
