Sharks Skate as They Await Next Round's Opponent
The San Jose Sharks took to the ice on Friday to do whatever preparation they could, knowing their second round opponent had yet to be determined.
As of mid-day Friday, two Western Conference series were still undecided with both the Sharks and Chicago Blackhawks advancing. The Sharks are taking the extra time they have while the other games wrap up, to get as healthy as possible and work on a few areas of their own game.
The outcome of games as soon as Friday night could determine the Sharks Western Conference Semifinal round opponent: the Blackhawks, St. Louis Blues or Los Angeles Kings.
Ducks at Red Wings - Game 6 - 5:00 p.m. PT
(Ducks lead best-of-7 series 3-2)
TV: CNBC; TSN2, RDSI; KDOC, FS-D
If the Detroit Red Wings, on the brink of elimination, are able to win Game 6, then the Sharks will have to wait until Sunday to find out their second round matchup. If the Anaheim Ducks win and take the series, then the Sharks will travel to Chicago to face the Blackhawks in the second round.
Blues at Kings - Game 6 - 7:00 p.m. PT
(Kings lead best-of-7 series, 3-2)
TV: NBCSN, CBC, RDS, FS-MW, PRIME
The Kings have an opportunity to close out their series with a win on Friday night in LA. Lose, and the Kings fight it out with the Blues in Game 7 on Monday. The Sharks will see the winner of the Blues and Kings series if the Red Wings are able to upset the Ducks in their seven game series. Either the Blues or the Kings would play host to the Sharks in Games 1 and 2 of the next round's series, under that scenario.
