Sharks Assign Defenseman Nick Petrecki to Worcester

SAN JOSE, California - San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has assigned defenseman Nick Petrecki to the Worcester Sharks, the team's top development affiliate in the American Hockey League.
Petrecki, 23, made his NHL debut on Jan. 29 vs. Anaheim and registered a hit, a takeaway, two blocked shots and was even in 11:58. He was placed in Worcester on a conditioning assignment on Feb. 3. In 18 games with Worcester this season, he has recorded four points (1-3=4), a +6 plus/minus rating and 62 penalty minutes.
The six-foot-three, 225-pound native of Schenectady, NY was originally selected by San Jose in the first round (28th overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
