Sharks Re-Sign Forward James Sheppard

SAN JOSE, California – San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has re-signed forward James Sheppard to a one-year contract. In keeping with club policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
This season, Sheppard has played 34 games for Worcester, posting 23 points (eight goals, 15 assists) and 52 penalty minutes. He is currently ranked second in points scoring for Worcester.
In 224 career NHL games Sheppard has accrued 49 points (11 goals, 38 assists) and 108 penalty minutes.
Sheppard was acquired from Minnesota on Aug. 7, 2011 in exchange for a third round selection in the 2013 NHL Draft.
The six-foot-one, 205-pound native of Halifax, Nova Scotia was originally selected by Minnesota in the first round (9th overall) in the 2006 NHL Draft.
