Sharks Re-Sign Defenseman Nick Petrecki

SAN JOSE, California – San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has re-signed defenseman Nick Petrecki to a one-year contract. In keeping with club policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
This season, Petrecki has played 16 games for Worcester, posting three points (one goal, two assists), 53 penalty minutes and a +4 ranking which is tied for second on the team.
In 2011-12, Petrecki played 68 games for Worcester, posting nine points (one goal, eight assists) and 107 penalty minutes. He was awarded the 2012 Yanick Dupre Memorial Award, given to the AHL man of the year for service in his local community.
The six-foot-three, 230-pound native of Schenectady, NY was selected by San Jose in the first round (28th overall) in the 2007 NHL Draft.
