Sharks 48-Game Season Schedule Announced

SAN JOSE, California — The National Hockey League and the San Jose Sharks today announced the team’s complete 2012-13 regular season schedule.

The Sharks will open their 22nd NHL season at the Scotiabank Saddledome on Sunday, Jan. 20 against the Calgary Flames. The team will play their first home game at HP Pavilion on Thursday, Jan. 24 against the Phoenix Coyotes. The final game of the regular season will be at the Staples Center on Saturday, April 27 against the Los Angeles Kings. The 2012-13 Sharks schedule consists of 48 games – 24 home and 24 road contests.

The home schedule features nine weekend contests (six on Saturday, three on Sunday). The busiest home weeknight is Thursday (six), followed by Tuesday (five), Wednesday (two), Friday (one) and Monday (one).

The Sharks will play Pacific Division rivals Phoenix (three home, two road) and Anaheim (two home, three road) five times each and Dallas and Los Angeles (two home, two road) four times each for a total of 18 games.

The Sharks will also play members of the Western Conference’s Northwest Division (Calgary, Colorado, Edmonton, Minnesota and Vancouver) and Central Division (Chicago, Columbus, Detroit, Nashville and St. Louis) three times each (30 games). The Sharks will host the following out of division Western Conference teams twice at home, while visiting each city once: Colorado, Detroit, Minnesota, Nashville and Vancouver. San Jose will visit the following teams twice, while hosting them once at HP Pavilion: Calgary, Chicago, Columbus, Edmonton and St. Louis.

The Sharks have a season-long six-game road trip from Feb. 11 to Feb. 23. Conversely, San Jose will have a season-long seven-game homestand from March 27 to April 7.

Information on Sharks individual game tickets and a complete broadcast schedule will be released at a later date.
