The Sharks, Sharks Foundation and Sharks Ice at San Jose Team Up to Kickoff Season of Giving

Lend a helping hand during the holidays by making canned food or monetary donations at our Second Harvest Food Bank Food Drive kickoff event at Sharks Ice at San Jose from 6-7 p.m. on Thursday, November 8. Fans who donate at least five (5) canned items or $5 will have the opportunity to get autographs from former Sharks Captains Owen Nolan, Mike Ricci, and Doug Wilson, along with Curtis Brown, Jamie Baker, broadcasters Randy Hahn and Dan Rusanowsky, and mascot S.J. Sharkie (limit one autographed item per person, celebrities subject to change).

Items most needed are canned meals (soups, chili, etc…), canned meats (chicken, tuna, etc…), peanut butter, canned vegetables and fruits, low-sugar cereals, 100% fruit juices in single serving boxes and other non-perishable items. Items in glass jars cannot be donated.

If you can’t make it to our kickoff event, there are plenty of other ways to help! Donations will be accepted at the South Entrance of HP Pavilion and the Sharks Store during normal business hours until the end of the month. These donors will receive a Sharks Territory sign and a 20% off coupon at the Sharks Store.

Sharks Ice at San Jose will also have food collection bins available throughout the month. On specific days, customers bringing the following items will receive a 2 for 1 admission for public session that evening from 7:30 – 9:30 p.m.

  • Wednesday, November 14 – Turkey Drive (Frozen turkeys)
  • Wednesday, November 21 – Canned Food Drive (Canned food)
  • Wednesday, November 28 – Warmth Drive (New or gently used blankets and jackets)
  • Wednesday, December 5 – Toys for Tots Drive (New and unwrapped toys)

HP Pavilion guests can also assist by making donations at the following events:

  • Wednesday, November 7: Leonard Cohen
  • Friday, November 9: Eric Church
  • Sunday, November 18: Russell Peters
