Harri Sateri is prepping for his second season in Worcester after backstopping the Sharks for 38 games in his rookie season. The native of Toijala, Finland finished with a 15-20-1 record and a 2.86 GAA on top of a .908 save percentage. Sateri also recorded a Sharks franchise record shutout streak, which lasted 157:37.  His own assessment runs down the middle with optimism towards improvement.

“It was alright, not very good, not very bad,” said Sateri. “I think it was a good first year. But, of course I have to be better this year.”

Sateri describes himself as a typical butterfly style goaltender and is not worried about setting any pressure filled goals, explaining a positive performance will come if he concentrates on the small details.

“I just want to play my game, get better, and be ready every day to go,” said Sateri. “I think that if I play my own game, I will have good numbers.”

Sateri is no stranger to the big stage and you can already give the goalie credit for understanding what it takes to reach an elite level. He suited up and served in a backup role to Thomas Greiss in the season opener for the San Jose Sharks last season. He also represented his country at the World Junior Championships, calling it his proudest moment thus far of his career.

“At the World Juniors, when I made the team, that was a big thing for me,” relived Sateri.
