Sharks Foundation Golf Classic Raises Over $90K
On a beautiful sunny day at Cinnabar Hills Golf Course in San Jose, the Sharks Foundation completed yet another successful Sharks Foundation Golf Classic presented by Silver Creek Sportsplex.
The event raised over $90,000 for the Sharks Foundation, who will use the money to support the youth and families of the San Jose community. Nearly 200 golfers were on hand, joined by Sharks players, coaches, staff and broadcasters to compete for fun and charity in the scramble style tournament. It serves as the Sharks Foundation’s single highest fundraising event each year and over the past seven seasons, it has raised over half a million dollars.
“Throughout our team and organization, we recognize the value in helping the community and for that reason, we are extremely proud of the work we do through the Sharks Foundation,” said Sharks Foundation Manager Jeff Cafuir. “Today was a great day to raise a lot of money that we can immediately use to help our community.”
A huge assist in helping the community were the many sponsors of the event. JW Catering was there throughout the turns to refuel hungry and thirsty golfers and a welcoming post-play massage from SCORE Clinic was there at the end of the day. In addition there were several hole sponsors that offered fun competitions such as “Hit the Mascot” or closer to the pin than Joe Pavelski.
In all a fun and impactful day was made by the efforts of many.
