Sharks Re-Sign Defenseman Justin Braun

SAN JOSE, California – San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has re-signed defenseman Justin Braun to a three-year contract. In keeping with club policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
In 2011-12, Braun played 66 games for San Jose, posting 11 points (two goals, nine assists) and 23 penalty minutes. In six games with Worcester, he notched three assists with a plus-four rating.
In addition, Braun played in all five playoff games for San Jose in their first round series playoff against the St. Louis Blues.
Following the conclusion of the 2011-2012 NHL season, Braun was added to the U.S. Men's National Team roster for the 2012 International Ice Hockey Federation Men's World Championship and played in all eight games for Team USA.
The six-foot-two, 200-pound native of Minneapolis, Minnesota was selected by San Jose in the seventh round (201st overall) in the 2007 NHL Draft.
