On Saturday february 18th, in what appeared from the outside to be a typical soundstage in Los Angeles, the Cartoon Network was filming it's annual " Hall Of Game Awards ".  Mingling within the one-time airline hanger, sports and entertainment celebrities such as Shaquille O'neal, David Beckham, Hope Solo, Tim Tebow, Flo Rida, the Miz and S.J. Sharkie were waiting their turns to entertain the kids and learn who won awards such as "he's got game", "captain clutch", "alti-dude" and "most awesome mascot".

Joined by fellow mascots (and longtime friends) Jaxson DeVille (NFL Jacksonville), Slider (MLB Cleveland) and Slamson (NBA Sacramento), Sharkie perfomed throughout the show, wowing audiences with a stunt coming in from The roof and ultimately freefalling onto Shaquille oneal in a foam pit.  (Yes, he did land on Shaq)

But as the show was coming to its conclusion, the 4 mascots joined hand in hand on stage to learn the winner of the fan-voted most awesome mascot award.  With over 100 million votes cast this year on hallofgame.com, the award was anyones.  As the tension grew, and with no mascot not knowing the outcome, Sharkie heard two letters come over the P.A.  those letters were "S. J."!  From then on the rest was a blur.  Sharkie had just won! Next thing he remembered was all the mascots, and presenter jennette mccurdy (from iCarly), were all climbing out of the foam pit and joining Flo Rida for one last song.

"It was an honor and a privilege to represent my organization, players and fans at the 2012 hall of game awards.  To be selected as one of the 4 best was amazing, and to win was the icing on the cake.  I couldn't have done it without all of you who voted for me" commented Sharkie from the press scrum backstage. "and to be the 1st hockey mascot ever nominated, and then to walk away with the 2012 title is a reflection of the work my 24 other mascots and I in the NHL put forth for the best fans in all of sport! I hope to be able to defend my Title in 2013. But for now, I will just focus on the Sharks push to the playoffs."
