Doug Wilson Gets 2 Forwards Under Contract

San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has re-signed Group II restricted free agent forwards Jamie McGinn and Frazer McLaren each to one-year contracts. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
McGinn, 22, posted six points (1-5=6) in 49 games with San Jose in 2010-11. He appeared in seven postseason contests registering one assist and was third on the team with 30 penalty minutes. With Worcester (AHL), he posted 20 points (9-11=20) in 30 games played. In three seasons for San Jose, he has totaled 25 points (15-10=25) in 143 games.
The six-foot-one, 195-pound left wing was selected by San Jose in the second round (36th overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
McLaren, 23, posted 22 penalty minutes in nine games for San Jose in 2010-11. In 32 career NHL games, all with San Jose, he has six points (1-5=6), 76 penalty minutes and has a +5 plus/minus rating. With Worcester (AHL), he added four points (2-2=4) and 71 penalty minutes in 40 games played.
The six-foot-five, 250-pound left wing was selected by San Jose in the seventh round (203rd overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
