San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has recalled forwards Benn Ferriero and defenseman Matt Irwin from the Worcester Sharks, the team’s top development affiliate in the American Hockey League.
Ferriero has notched 20 points (11 goals, nine assists) in 20 games and eight penalty minutes with Worcester this season. In 32 games with the Sharks, Ferriero has nine points (five goals, four assists) and nine penalty minutes.
Irwin, in his first professional season, has 21 points (nine goals, 12 assists) and 18 penalty minutes in 46 games with Worcester.
In a separate set of transactions, forward Tommy Wingels and defenseman Nick Petrecki have been reassigned to Worcester. Defenseman Jason Demers has been reassigned to Stockton (ECHL).
