Kyle Wellwood Is Claimed By San Jose Off Waivers

Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson found some more help for his club when he claimed forward Kyle Wellwood off waivers.
Wellwood, 27, has spent this season playing in with the Mytishchi Atlanti of the Kontinental Hockey League, recording eight points (five goals, three assists) in 25 games.
Last season with the Vancouver Canucks, Wellwood posted 25 points (14 goals, 11 assists) in 75 games.
In 338 NHL games with Toronto and Vancouver, Wellwood has notched 160 points (63 goals, 97 assists), 30 penalty minutes and eight game-winning goals.
The Windsor, Ontario native was originally drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the fifth round (134th overall) of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
