Sharks Recall Wingels, Reassign Braun

SAN JOSE, Calif. – San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has recalled forward Tommy Wingels from the Worcester Sharks, the team’s top development affiliate, and reassigned defenseman Justin Braun to the AHL club.
Wingels, 22, has appeared in two games with San Jose this season in two different NHL stints. In Worcester, he has recorded 12 points (6-6=12) in 27 games.
The six-foot, 195-pound native of Evanston, Illinois was originally selected by San Jose in the sixth round (177th overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
In a related move, defenseman Justin Braun has been reassigned to Worcester. In 14 games with San Jose, he posted nine points (1-8=9), which is third on the team amongst defensemen. With Worcester this season, he has accumulated nine points (1-8=9) in 17 games played.
