The Sharks will open their preseason schedule tonight, when they travel to southern California to face the Anaheim Ducks. The start time is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. at the Honda Center and sjsharks.com will be providing updates throughout the game.
After a pre-game skate at Sharks Ice from 10:00 a.m. to Noon, the Sharks will board a flight to Ontario International Airport at 2:30 p.m.
This is the Ducks second preseason game as they fell 4-1 to a visiting Coyotes team last night in Anaheim.
Last season, the Sharks went 5-1 against a Ducks squad that finished fourth in the Pacific Division and failed to make the playoffs. Joe Thornton lead the team with 14 points in the series and Patrick Marleau saw two of his five goals against the Ducks go in as the game winner. The Sharks surrendered just 11 goals in their six games versus Anaheim.
There is not much love lost between the two divisional rivals as last season’s series saw multiple scraps in the meetings. Ryane Clowe was one to drop his gloves on a couple of occasions, throwing down with George Parros and Sheldon Brookbank. All three players will be in the lineup for tonight’s game as the Sharks will be chomping at the bit for their first chance to go out and hit somebody other than themselves.
Below is a list of the game's lineup for both teams:
