Thrashers Receive 'Future Considerations' in Deal

SAN JOSE, Calif. – Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has acquired a seventh round selection (188th overall) in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, defenseman Michael Vernace and left wing Brett Sterling from the Atlanta Thrashers in exchange for future considerations.
Vernace and Sterling are due to become free agents on July 1.
The Sharks now hold six selections in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft set for June 25-26 in Los Angeles: First round (28th overall), third round (88th overall), fifth round (127th, 129th and 136th overall) and seventh round (188th overall).
