SAN JOSE, Calif. -- San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the team has acquired a fifth round selection (129th overall) in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft from the Minnesota Wild in exchange for forward Brad Staubitz.

“Brad is a tough, physical forward who earned the respect of his teammates night-in and night-out,” said Wilson. “We want to thank him for his efforts on behalf of our organization and wish him all the best moving forward.”

Staubitz, 25, played in 47 games in 2009-10 for San Jose, registering three goals and three assists to go with his 110 penalty minutes. In 82 NHL games, all with San Jose, the Edmonton, Alberta native posted nine points (four goals, five assists) and 186 penalty minutes.

The six-foot-one, 210-pound right winger was signed as a free agent by the Sharks on Sept. 19, 2005.
