Sharks & Blackhawks Open Up On NBC

Western Conference Final Schedule Released
The National Hockey League announced today that the San Jose Sharks (#1) Western Conference Final series against the Chicago Blackhawks (#2) will begin on Sun., May 16 at Noon PDT at HP Pavilion. The game will be broadcast nationally on NBC.

This will be the first-ever Stanley Cup Playoffs meeting between the Sharks and the Blackhawks. The Sharks most recently went to the Western Conference Final in 2004, losing to the Calgary Flames in six games. The Blackhawks appeared in the Western Conference Final last season, losing to the Detroit Red Wings in five games.

All games will be aired nationally on VERSUS or NBC. In addition, Comcast SportsNet California will continue to cover the team extensively, including Chronicle Live broadcasting live from HP Pavilion prior to every weeknight home game and Sharks Postgame Live following every game.

Furthermore, all San Jose Sharks playoff games can be heard on the 98.5 KFOX (KUFX-FM) and the San Jose Sharks Radio Network (the Sharks pre-game show will air live in its entirety on KFOX starting ½ hour before every game).

Sharks Postgame Live
With the Western Conference Finals airing exclusively on VERSUS or NBC, Comcast SportsNet California will continue its comprehensive Sharks playoff coverage with special editions of Sharks Postgame Live, featuring in-depth game analysis, complete game highlights, a live look at Coach Todd McLellan's press conference, interviews from the locker room and player reaction, and a preview of the next game. Sharks Postgame Live is anchored by Scott Reiss along with Sharks announcer Randy Hahn, analyst Bret Hedican, and features reports from Brodie Brazil and Jamie Baker. Sharks Postgame Live will originate from HP Pavilion and from the United Center in Chicago.

Sharks Postgame Live for Games 1, 2, and 4 will air live on Comcast SportsNet Plus and the other shows will be live on Comcast SportsNet California.

Chronicle Live from HP Pavilion:
Comcast SportsNet Bay Area will present Chronicle Live from HP Pavilion prior to every weeknight home game. The first telecast is scheduled for Tuesday, May 18 at 5:00 p.m. PT prior to Game 2 of the Sharks-Blackhawks Western Conference Finals.

Chronicle Live airs live Monday-Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Comcast SportsNet Bay Area, and replays on Comcast SportsNet Bay Area at 11:00 p.m. and on Comcast SportsNet California at 6:00 p.m. and midnight. Chronicle Live is also available on Comcast Digital Cable’s ON DEMAND Channel 1.

During the 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs, tune into Comcast SportsNet Bay Area’s SportsNet Central for in-depth, comprehensive news coverage of the Sharks and the NHL, including expert analysis, exclusive interviews, breaking local and national news, up-to-the-minute scores, complete video highlights, and daily insider reports. SportsNet Central is the place for Sharks fans to turn seven nights a week with half-hour newscasts at 6:00 p.m., 10:30 p.m. and midnight PT.
