Since being acquired by the Sharks on July 15, Nichol has made a name for himself in the faceoff circle. The 5-foot-9, 178 pound center current leads the team with a 64.2 winning percentage.
Nichol, a native of Edmonton, has played in 417 games for Nashville, Chicago, Calgary and Buffalo, collecting 92 points (44 goals and 48 assists), while accumulating 686 penalty minutes. He was originally drafted by Buffalo in the 1993 NHL Entry draft (11th round, 272nd overall).
