Comcast SportsNet California will present the most comprehensive Sharks television schedule in the team’s history, including 75 exclusive games for the 2009-10 National Hockey League season and 50 High Definition telecasts, a 16% increase from the previous season and the most HDTV Sharks telecasts ever offered. Additionally, the Sharks will be featured four times this season on Versus giving the team 79 televised games.

Sharks fans also benefit from a significant increase in the amount of Sharks pregame and postgame analysis and insider access. Comcast SportsNet California will deliver a 54% increase in the number of Sharks Pregame Live and Sharks Postgame Live shows, giving fans more player and coach reaction and behind-the-scenes coverage than last season.

The first of 75 regular season games on Comcast SportsNet California will be seen on Saturday, October 3 as the Sharks take on division rival Anaheim Ducks at the Honda Center. Coverage begins with Sharks Pregame Live at 6:30 p.m. followed by puck drop at 7:00 p.m.

Calling all the Sharks games will be the veteran announcing team of Randy Hahn and Drew Remenda. Sharks Pregame Live and Sharks Postgame Live, which will air prior to and following most home and away telecasts, will be anchored from Comcast SportsNet’s new Northern California headquarters boasting state-of-the-art studios, a 24-hour newsroom and HD production facilities. Announcements regarding a sideline reporter and talent for Sharks Pregame Live and Sharks Postgame Live will be made at a later date.

“We are very excited to launch this new TV partnership with Comcast SportsNet California,” said Malcolm Bordelon, Executive Vice President of Business Operations, San Jose Sharks. “We have enjoyed a long and mutually beneficial relationship with Comcast SportsNet and this new affiliation with CSNCA allows for far fewer potential conflicts with other Bay Area teams’ telecasts. Also, Comcast SportsNet California will provide Sharks fans with the most high-definition games in the franchise’s history and their pre- and post-game coverage will offer more in depth analysis than ever.”

For approximately 24 hours following each game, Comcast SportsNet California’s Sharks telecasts will be available on Comcast Digital Cable’s ON DEMAND Channel 1 at no additional cost. Select Sharks HDTV games will also be available ON DEMAND Channel 1.

"Our new partnership with the Sharks heralds a dynamic new television landscape for Sharks fans and viewers throughout Northern California,’ said Larry Eldridge, Vice President and General Manager, Comcast SportsNet California. “We are especially enthused about televising the most Sharks games ever, increasing the number of HD telecasts, delivering more pregame and postgame shows than ever before, and significantly enhancing our coverage of the Sharks on CSNCalifornia.com."
