Sharks Re-Sign Forward Brad Staubitz

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the team has re-signed Group II restricted free agent forward Brad Staubitz to a one-year contract. In keeping with club policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Staubitz, 24, appeared in 35 games with the Sharks in the 2008-09 season, registering three points (one goal, two assists) and finishing fourth on San Jose with 76 penalty minutes. He made his National Hockey League debut on Oct. 17 at Nashville, where he received a fighting major on his first shift. He scored his first career goal on Jan. 9 vs. Edmonton.
In 38 games with the Worcester Sharks (AHL), Staubitz recorded five assists and 130 penalty minutes.
The six-foot-one, 210-pound right winger was signed as a free agent by the Sharks on Sept. 19, 2005.
