CSN\'s Telecast Geared for Parents and Kids
SAN FRANCISCO, CA – Comcast SportsNet Bay Area, the home of “Authentic Bay Area Sports,” today announced Telecast for Kids, a special kid-themed telecast for its San Jose Sharks and Golden State Warriors games this Saturday, February 21.

The Telecast For Kids will provide parents and their children the opportunity to spend time together watching exciting sports and special features of interest to kids.

“What’s it like to be a kid of an NHL player? What fundamentals of the game should a youngster learn to become a better basketball player? What did your favorite hockey and basketball stars look like when they were kids?” These questions and more will be answered during the Telecast For Kids.

Coverage of the Sharks/Atlanta Thrashers match up begins at 12:30 p.m. with Sharks Pregame Live. During the Sharks/Thrashers game which begins at 1:00 p.m., Comcast SportsNet Bay Area will present kid-themed special features, including “What it’s like to be the kid of an NHL Player,” in which Rob Blake’s son Jack, Brian Boucher’s son Tyler, Mike Grier’s son Jayden, and Jeremy Roenick’s son Brett share their thoughts about their fathers, what they enjoy most about the game, and how they became friends.

The boys also take the ice with former Shark and current radio color analyst Jamie Baker for some practice drills. The telecast will also highlight Sharks players Ryane Clowe, Christian Ehrhoff, Claude Lemieux and Devin Setoguchi sharing fitness and playing tips for young players, and Comcast SportsNet’s Kate Longworth will present a special edition of Sharks Fin-Addicts focusing on young Shark fans.

Later on that evening, throughout the Warriors/Oklahoma City Thunder game beginning at 7:30 p.m., television analyst and 11-year NBA player Jim Barnett will discuss the fundamentals of basketball that young players should learn.

The focus of the telecast will be on the match up between two of the youngest players in the league, Anthony Randolph going against Oklahoma City’s Kevin Durant who recently scored 46 points at the NBA All-Star Rookie Challenge.

Also, the telecast will include a story on the Jr. Warriors program, and Comcast SportsNet’s sideline reporter Jaymee Sire will interview young Warrior fans in attendance.

"The wide-eyed passion of young fans is crucial to the success of any sport, and that's why the Telecast for Kids has been such a hit with our Sharks viewers in seasons past,” said David Koppett, Executive Producer, Comcast SportsNet Bay Area. “This year, our schedule provides us with the perfect opportunity to extend the theme to our Warriors audience. Having these two special shows should make this one of the best days of the year for Bay Area sports viewers of all ages."
