Completed Trades from Day Two of Draft
Trading activity was light during Friday's first round of the NHL Entry Draft, but there was some more activity as the 30 teams completed the final six rounds. And as Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson had promised, San Jose made a trade to obtain an extra Draft pick.

Wilson obtained a sixth-round pick (No. 189) from the Dallas Stars for a sixth-round pick in the 2010 Draft. The Sharks used that pick to select center Marek Viedensky and finished the day with five new prospects in the Sharks system.

The Atlanta Thrashers traded a fourth-round pick (No. 95) to the Los Angeles Kings for two fourth-round picks (Nos. 117 and 120) and a seventh-round pick (No. 203). Atlanta also traded a sixth-round pick (No. 177) in the 2009 Draft to Chicago for a fifth-round pick in 2010.

The Calgary Flames traded the negotiating rights to defenseman Jordan Leopold and a third-round pick in the 2009 Entry Draft to Florida for the negotiating rights to defenseman Jay Bouwmeester.

The Edmonton Oilers traded the rights to forward Kyle Brodziak and a sixth-round pick in the 2009 Draft to the Minnesota Wild for fourth- and fifth-round picks. Edmonton also traded a seventh-round pick (No. 191) in the 2009 Draft to the Ottawa Senators for a sixth-round pick in 2010.

The Los Angeles Kings traded center Brian Boyle to the New York Rangers for a third-round pick in the 2010 Draft. The Kings also sent a third-round pick in the 2009 Draft (No. 74) to the Calgary Flames for third-round (No. 84) and fourth-round (No. 107) picks. Los Angeles also traded fourth-round (No. 107) and fifth-round (No. 138) picks to the Florida Panthers for Florida's third-round pick in 2010.

The Nashville Predators traded a fifth-round pick (No. 148) in the 2009 Entry Draft to Tampa Bay for a fifth-round pick in 2010. Nashville also traded a seventh-round pick (No. 202) in the 2009 Draft to St. Louis for a seventh-round pick in 2010.

The New York Islanders traded a second-round pick (No. 56) in the 2009 Draft to the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for a third-round pick (No. 62) and a fourth-round pick (No. 92). The Islanders also traded a third-round pick in the 2009 Draft to the Phoenix Coyotes for a third-round pick in the 2010 Draft.

The Pittsburgh Penguins traded goaltender Chad Johnson to the New York Rangers for a fifth-round pick in the 2009 Draft. Pittsburgh also traded a seventh-round pick (No. 211) in 2009 to the Montreal Canadiens for a sixth-round pick in 2010.

The Phoenix Coyotes traded defenseman Brandon Prust to the Calgary Flames for defenseman Jim Vandermeer.  Phoenix also traded a seventh-round pick (No. 187) to Vancouver for the rights to defenseman Shaun Heshka.
