San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has recalled forward Jamie McGinn from and reassigned defenseman Derek Joslin to the Worcester Sharks, the team’s top development affiliate in the American Hockey League.

McGinn was previously recalled to San Jose from Oct. 27 thru Nov. 7 and Dec. 15 thru Dec. 31. He made his NHL debut with the Sharks on Oct. 28 against Pittsburgh, scored two points (1-1=2) against the Detroit Red Wings in his second NHL game and scored the game-winning goal on Nov. 4 vs. Minnesota. In 12 games, he has posted three points (2-1=3).

In 39 games with Worcester, McGinn is sixth on the team in scoring with 26 points (16 goals, 10 assists) and tied for third in goals.

He was originally selected by San Jose in the second round (36th overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.

Joslin has played in 10 games with the Sharks this season, posting four penalty minutes.

At the time of his recall to San Jose, he was third on Worcester in scoring, first among defensemen with 20 points (seven goals, 13 assists) in 34 games.

Joslin played for the Canadian AHL All-Star Team in Worcester, where he won the Reebok “Hardest Shot” event with a shot registering 98.6 miles per hour at the AHL All-Star Skills Competition.

The six-foot-one, 205-pound native of Richmond Hill, Ontario was originally selected by San Jose in the fifth round (149th overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
