Finally! That's what it felt like and although it's likely a bit of a dramatic emotion to have during the first half of November of a full 82-game season, there was a sense of relief. Not only did the Sharks secure a victory for the first time in six games, but they did so in overtime, an extra period of hockey that has been unkind to those who wear teal in the early parts of the 2013-14 season. Yes, a goal was scored in overtime... and it held up! Here we go.
It was everyone's favorite Czech rookie's birthday. It's slightly bittersweet as it marked the end to one hashtag, but a hope that the rest continue to live on.

Still no timetable on a hairless Chewie.
But Alex gets the start in the pipes, giving Nemo a rest. Also a slight shuffle on the blueline that would pay off huge.
Stalock in tonight— Kevin Kurz (@KKurzCSN) November 12, 2013
Looks like Irwin might be the odd d-man out tonight , with Stuart back in. #sjsharks— Curtis Pashelka (@CurtisPashelka) November 12, 2013
Only 4 teams in the NHL have 2 losses in regulation: Colorado, Chicago, St. Louis and San Jose. The only team with 3 Reg losses in Anaheim— Jamie Baker (@Bakes_Jamie13) November 13, 2013
A tragic reminder of the devastation Calgary endured during the early summer.

Stop me when you've heard this before... Sharks strike quickly.
For those who keep track, Couture's goal was the first shot of the game for the Sharks against the #Flames.— Randy Sportak (@SUNRandySportak) November 13, 2013
And Patrick Marleau won't let Couture get on the board without doing the same. Critical power play score.
Wow. #SJSharks nearly had as many goals in the first period (2) as Calgary had shots (3)— Todd Bodene (@toddbodene) November 13, 2013
Hockey rarity: #sjsharks score on their first & last shots of the 1st period. Have a 17-3 edge on the shot clock, lead 2-0.— Brodie Brazil (@brodiebrazilCSN) November 13, 2013
Looking at twitter while watching the #sjsharks game is probably the most entertaining thing one can do.— Mel L. (@hOnEyXbEe) November 13, 2013
Couture takes a stick up high and #SharksTerritory collectively holds their breath... then a sigh of relief.
Couture back on bench, Sharks back to playing in OZ … all is right again! Score 2-0 San Jose, Shots 18-4 (Total shots taken are 36-9)— Jamie Baker (@Bakes_Jamie13) November 13, 2013
Wow Hertl almost undressed everyone including the ushers... Just couldn't get the shot off #SJSharks— Sachin Sahota (@__sachinsahota) November 13, 2013
An extremely fast pace was being played at the Saddledome and it seemed to benefit the visiting team.
How long can a game go without a stoppage #SJSharks— Jacob Mendelson (@sjsharksfinatic) November 13, 2013
The Sharks do not look comfortable w/ a 2 goal lead (cue the short memory from last game) & keep pressing in the OZ - they are flying 2nite— Jamie Baker (@Bakes_Jamie13) November 13, 2013
Flames D T.J Brodie, with four blocks, has more saves than San Jose goalie Alex Stalock in the first period.— Kristen Odland (@KristenOdlandCH) November 13, 2013
Fear and doubt creeps back in. Flames get on the board following a tough call against the Sharks.
Stalock with nice save on redirection by Stempniak, preserving 2-1 lead for #SJSharks with 11:03 left.— Curtis Pashelka (@CurtisPashelka) November 13, 2013
Another Flames goal and everyone become hysterical.
Lucky rebounds = tie game 2-2. WOW!— Jamie Baker (@Bakes_Jamie13) November 13, 2013
Wait, everyone doesn't enjoy overtime? #FreeHockey
For the 5th time in 6 games the Sharks are going to extra time. Shots R 34 to 12 but the stat that matters is called The Score and it's 2-2— Jamie Baker (@Bakes_Jamie13) November 13, 2013
Sweet, sweet, overdue, justice.
Hahaha of course the one overtime goal that counts was probably kicked in.— Fear The Fin (@fearthefin) November 13, 2013
I'd like to formally apologize and congratulate the @SanJoseSharks— Carolyn Renee (@unreadsymphony) November 13, 2013
