Hockey Hall of Famer Phil Esposito to Drop Ceremonial First Puck at Charity Event

SAN JOSE, California -- Rosters for the charity exhibition game between the Sharks/Jr. Sharks alumni and the Russia Gazprom Export team at Sharks Ice at San Jose (@Sharks_Ice) on Fri, July 19 were announced today.

Several former San Jose Sharks alumni are expected to play in the contest, including former Captain Owen Nolan, goaltender Evgeni Nabokov, forwards Curtis Brown, Alex Korolyuk and David Maley, and defenseman Andrei Zyuzin.

Expected to represent Gazprom Export are some of the top Russian talent to ever play in the NHL, including forwards Alex Kovalev, Alexei Yashin, Valeri Bure and Andrei Kovalenko.

In addition, Hockey Hall of Famer Phil Esposito will be on hand to drop the ceremonial first puck.

The exhibition game will be held on Sharks Ice’s North Rink and begin at approximately 6 p.m., with warm-ups taking place at 5:30 p.m.

All proceeds from the match will benefit the Norcal Rep Scholarship Fund and the Aubri Brown Club. Admission is $15 per person and tickets will be sold at the door beginning at 4:00 p.m. Each person will be allowed to purchase up to five tickets to the event.

In addition, 50 VIP Tickets will be available for $30 each (limit two per person). VIP tickets allow for a meet-and-greet with Phil Esposito and Sharks alumni between warm-ups and prior to the start of the game, as well as the option of viewing of the game in a private area of Stanley’s Sports Bar. These tickets will also be available at the door and sold on a first-come first-served basis.

The Norcal Rep Scholarship Fund is for Northern California youth hockey players who have a passion for the sport of hockey but need some financial assistance to see their dreams through. For more information, please visit norcalyouthhockey.com.
