The San Jose Sharks skated for the second straight day at Sharks Ice, trying to stay in game shape while also attempting to prepare for two possible scenarios in the next round.

Last night, hockey fans and those attentive to the Sharks possibilities for an opponent in the Western Conference Semifinals saw the Detroit Red Wings stave off elimination in overtime of Game 6 against the Anaheim Ducks. Red Wings forward Henrik Zetterberg scored just minutes into the extra period to force a deciding Game 7 on Sunday, May 12 in Anaheim.

If the Ducks can respond and win Game 7, then the Sharks will travel to Chicago to face the Blackhawks for the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. If the Red Wings pull out a road victory, then the Sharks will travel to Los Angeles, who closed out their series by defeating the St. Louis Blues in six games, and face the Kings.

"It's nice to get in a mindset and playoff hockey you know what you're going to get, but for right now we're just going to worry about us." said Sharks forward James Sheppard. "Let's have sharp passes and intense practices. Just make sure we're playing our game."
