PAVELSKI FACING FORMER TEAMMATE
Mercury News beat writer David Pollak reports that Sharks forward Joe Pavelski will be facing a goalie he knows both on and off the ice. Pavelski and Blues goaltender Brian Elliot were teammates at Wisconsin on the 2006 NCAA Championship Ice Hockey team.

SHARKS EXCTIED TO PLAY AT HOME
CSN California Insider Kevin Kurz reports that the Sharks are excited to be playing their first playoff game at home in San Jose in what should be a fun atmosphere. Kurz quotes Sharks forward Joe Pavelski saying “It’s definitely extra energy that’s brought to you and your team, and we’re happy to be here right now," regarding the first playoff game at HP Pavilion.

SHARKS & BLUES PREPARE FOR PHYSICAL GAME
CSN California columnist Ray Ratto reports that Game 3 tonight vs. the Blues will be a physical match. Sharks Head Coach Todd McLellan stated, "It’s a scrappy time of year, especially in the first round. Every inch is important. You’ve got to scratch and claw to score goals and earn ice."
