When the Worcester Sharks open their season-long seven-game road trip on Friday night in Albany, New York, San Jose Sharks fans may notice a familiar face in the lineup.
Goaltender Antero Niittymaki, in Worcester on a conditioning assignment, was activated off injured reserve on Monday and could see some game action this weekend during the three games in three nights stretch.
After a tough stretch of games in November, Worcester is riding a three-game winning streak and a 5-0-1 record in the month of December, jumping up to third place in the Atlantic Division. The top line featuring Benn Ferriero, John McCarthy and Tommy Wingels have been red hot with all three players riding three-game point streaks headed into the weekend.
