Tuesday Trivia - 8/7/2012
Tuesday Trivia is a weekly feature of the Daily Chomp. Check back next week for a new question and prize.
Sharks alternate captain Ryane Clowe plays a style of hockey that defines a power forward. In 2011-12, Clowe finished sixth on the team in points (17-28=45) and first on the team in penalty minutes (97). In nearly 400 career NHL games, the Newfoundland native has 260 points paired with 488 penalty minutes. Surely any player with those type of credentials is likely to record the exclusive Gordie Howe Hat Trick and Clowe has done so three times. For his third Gordie Howe Hat Trick, Clowe scored a goal, added an assist, and logged two fighting majors versus the Los Angeles Kings.
TRIVIA: Who is the only other player in Sharks history to record two fighting majors on their way to a Gordie Howe Hat Trick?
(HINT: Check out the Sharks Media Guide)Prize: Submit your answer in the form below for a chance to win a Ryane Clowe signed puck. Submissions must be received by Thursday, Aug. 9 at 12 p.m. (Pacific).
This trivia contest has ended and is closed for any further submissions. Check out The Daily Chomp blog next week to see the answer and trivia winner.Last week's winner of a Dan Boyle signed puck was Michael S. He correctly answered that Dan Boyle recorded 252 shots in 2011-12.
