Although the team has had some tough breaks recently we haven't given up on the playoffs. We still have a chance to put together some wins at the end of the season and squeak into the playoffs - anything can happen.

The team's spirits are still high and we have many new faces that have joined the team. These players have fit right into the dressing room and have brought some extra energy to the team.

Our team will push hard to squeak into the playoffs, but if not, the future looks bright for the team.

This season, I've learned a lot and have improved over the year and hope to finish strong.

Its hard to believe there is only a month left in the regular season. The season has gone by fast so far but we have a long way to go. One of our team goals was to make the playoffs.

We are on the bubble right now so we are really focused to finish the season strong and to have a great last month. Personally, I feel like I have improved a lot as the season has gone on and am looking to contribute to help the team end strong.

Our team is a close knit group. We have a good mix of veterans and young players, with many character guys. This year has been very different from what I have been used to, with the number of changes to our roster during the season.

I was really excited to hear the lockout was over. It gives us even more incentive to continue to work hard. Obviously, I am very interested to watch the Sharks play; not just to cheer for them but also to watch the systems and plays that they are using. We use many of the same systems and plays here in Worcester, so it is good to watch them in use at the NHL level.

It has also been fun watching some of the players who were on our Worcester team playing now for San Jose. Those players with San Jose right now were a big part of our team, and very good leaders in the room so it has been a little tough without them. However, it gives other guys on the team a chance to step up.

We have been in a little rut for the last few games but we've had a good week of practice to gain back our confidence. Hopefully we will end that rut soon. We have a few players missing, either in San Jose or injured, so other players will have an opportunity to step up.

We just closed out 2012 on a high note. We carry a three game winning streak in to the new year and one thing I've really learned about our team is that it has a lot of talent and character.

Many of our games have been one-goal games and we have ended up on the winning side of most of them. Whenever we have been down, we found a way to come back in many of our games. This has helped us become more confident. It makes the games even more exciting and fun to play. We're looking forward to keeping our current roll going through the next part of the season – although hopefully we can win a few games by more than one goal and skip the dramatics.

Our team is having a lot more fun now that we are winning compared to early in the season when we got off to a slow start. We began the month undefeated in regulation and it has helped us climb to the top of our division. Winning allows everyone to be more confident, energetic, and relaxed. It translates at practice, during games, and off the ice as well.

Either way, we always try to prepare the same way. Before each game, our coaches work hard to develop a game plan specific to the team we're playing. We watch video. We look at clips of their recent games and games that we played against them in the past. We go over their systems in each zone and their power play and penalty kill. We also look at their potential lineup and who their key players are.

American Thanksgiving was last week, which was strange for me because it was a few weeks after Canadian Thanksgiving. This was my first Thanksgiving in America. It's a bigger holiday here than in Canada with most stores closed and football on TV all day. Most of the team gathered for a dinner that was put together by some of the players' wives and girlfriends. I think all the boys would agree that they did a great job with the meal. Although I did not get to spend Thanksgiving with my family for the first time, it is nice that we have such a close team in Worcester that gets together for nights like this.

The team has been on a little roll lately, going 4-1-1 in the last two weekends. Its been nice to get some wins after a slow start. We have a lot of new players on the team this year, so I think we're starting to develop our chemistry and get used to the systems the coaches are teaching us. We're gaining confidence and look to keep improving.

Last weekend we had two big wins against divisional teams. I scored my first professional goal and it happened to be the game-winner in a 3-1 win over Portland. We ended off the weekend with a come from behind shootout win, capping off a pretty exciting weekend. This week we have two very important games. Portland is a division rival so we need to take advantage of that opportunity. We also face Connecticut. They beat us last week so it would be nice to get revenge on them. We will have to bring it both games.

We're coming off a successful weekend. Getting the first two wins was huge for us after a slow start. We played two really good games against a Bridgeport team that had played well before playing us. In two games, we outscored them 10-3. It was nice to finish off the weekend with a win after not playing well in Manchester on Saturday night. I think we are gaining chemistry and confidence and feel good heading into the weekend. This was our first 3-in-3 of the season - the first of many for us this year. When I played in juniors, we often played 3-in-3s, so I'm somewhat used to that type of a schedule.

I was really excited to play my first regular season game for the Sharks. Although we didn't pull out a win, it was fun to finally play a game that meant something for the team and against a team's real lineup. We came pretty close on Saturday night, but fell in a heartbreaking shootout loss.

Just before our first game, the coaches decided on the captains with the help of a team vote. We were told of the decisions in Norfolk at a pregame skate. Congratulations to John McCarthy and the guys. From the short time I've been here J Mac and the other captains seem like great leaders.
